In unprecedented times like these, where fear, uncertainty, anxiety and fake news are making headlines in our media, brothers and sisters in Christ, we can easily take our eyes off our Creator and Redeemer. Some trust in chariots and some in horses but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
It is not a coincidence that our church motto is taken from 2 Corinthians 4:18. Brothers and sisters, in the mist of this covid-19 crisis as Christians we need to pull ourselves together in prayer, to let the light of our Lord Jesus shine in these dark times.
Churches may be closed temporarily, but we the individual members, are the church, and we can lock ourselves in our closets and pray. In light of this, PHBC has set up an online radio station, that broadcasts 24 hours a day and features daily prayers, scripture readings and great uplifting music. You can also join in our weekly Sunday service at 10:30am via the radio station.
We have been called according to his purpose and we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him. So let us not give up on prayers. On a serious spiritual note, let us lift our Prime Minister Boris Johnson, anyone we know and all who have contracted the covid-19 virus, in prayers.
It will be a great joy to see the unsaved, saved when all these uncertainties end as a result of our Christian faith and power of our Saviour revealed in the answers to our prayers.
It can’t get any better as we recently celebrated the Holy Week, to witness one of the core values of our faith – the death and resurrection of our Saviour, the Son of God. We pray this occasion brought reassurance to many who feel their world has come to a standstill.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Spirit.
