Pauline Barnes

Deacon - Pastoral Care

Pauline Barnes is the deacon with responsibility for Pastoral Care.

She has oversight of four areas of church life:
Wellbeing Team – a support network for the congregation.
Welcome Team – a point contact for those visiting and re-visiting PHBC.
Cell Groups – this allows those in the church family to grow in their faith together, as they strive to live out Ephesians 4:12 in preparing God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up. Cell groups offer fellowship, support and accountability as we become our brothers’ and sisters’ keeper, sharing the love of Christ.
Prayer Group – Prayer is the power source of the church. Individual and corporate prayer is actively encouraged as daily acts of worship in cell groups and ministries across the church. There are also weekly recordings of prayers, which are broadcast on PHBC Radio. A group of people meet for before service prayers every Sunday.

Romans 12:12 urges us to ‘Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.’ We believe that the roles and responsibilities of the Pastoral Care ministry are a reflection of this scripture.

In addition to hanging out with family and friends, Pauline’s hobbies include reading, writing, walking, dancing and singing.
